A Year That Was
2009 was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me: the very mournful summer, the pressure of school, newly-found friends and a whole year of laughs and tears (God, I’m very much emotional!). I’ve started listing events since last year. I don’t know. Maybe just to have something to look back to. So here it goes:
- Danced for Prom cotillion.
- Broke up with my last guy.
- Another year with my best friend, Zandro.
- Awards for third year: Best in English, Top One.
- A roller coaster love life.
- Spent some time with someone. (Hello, first love)
- Screamed for the Gigger Boys. (Hello, my boys)
- Experienced a barrio wedding.
- Had my Plurk account.
- Made my first public blog.
- Became active in Facebook again.
- Brought back the good ol' times.
- Successful United Nations.
- Watched and kept up with Glee.
- Longer hair.
- Grand Confe with Gigger boys.
- Another year as a Samster.
- Enjoyed CAT classes.
- Stayed single.
- Took UPCAT, DOST exams, and Lyceum CET.
- Finished reading Harry Potter Series and the Twilight Saga.
- Learned the ups and downs of high school life.
- Another customized notebook.
- Met the Arellano University Chiefs.
- Earned new close friends.
- A happy birthday for Mom.
- Lost two persons I love.
- Reflected; Improved spiritually.
- Loved Enchong Dee and Katorse; Lee Min-Ho and Boys Over Flowers.
- Made my Twitter account.
- Stayed healthy and alive.
Happy Children
I’m here in our province already, and I’m very much happy about it. I really missed my nieces and nephews, super. There were so many stories to catch up, and we have so little time to discuss all of them. Naga City was still the same, except for some public works changes. They have taxis here already! I had no idea about that. Ha! Developments were really great. Kudos!
I feel so bad today. I have colds and non-stop coughs. Sadness. And my voice is freakin’ ugly. I just wish I’ll be better before Christmas.
Just to ease my boredom, I’m updating my accounts every day, and I’m planning to read
Eclipse and
Breaking Dawn again. I made a Twitter account by the way. I’m still learning and “discovering” some things there. I’m very excited for Enchong Dee’s and Sam Concepcion’s tweets! Hahaha! Anyway, I hope I’d get followers in time.
I’ll leave you with my nieces Sam and Apple’s home videos. Enjoy. Happy Holidays. Toodles! :*
A Recap
I made a New Year’s Resolution last December 2008. I try to check it once in a while to see if I’m progressing or anything. It’s effective! Ha! (
Emphasized phrases/sentences were successfully done.)
- Read the Twilight Saga .
- Watch Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (July 17).
- Watch New Moon (November 21).
- Stick to Vanity.
- Write more about anything. (Having a blog helped me in doing so)
- Run for SSG Presidency.
- Fall in love with a deserving guy. (Whatever!)
- Spend summer in Naga.
- Grand reunion with elementary friends.
- Pass the final exams.
- Try to read the remaining Harry Potter books. (Some of them I read twice)
- Visit the forum every day.
- Try my best-est to see Sam Concepcion in person again.
- More grand confe with Sam – and the others.
- A gift for myself on my birthday.
- Try to sport Alice Cullen’s style.
- More years with Yekok Corp.
- Reflect. Reminisce. Recollect. REDUCE.
- Wear something black at Prom (February 20).
- Make life meaningful and not boring.
- Make my wardrobe more useful.
- Let the truth set me free.
- Own a maxi dress for summer.
- Make myself useful and progressive this summer. Hint: make money!
- Interact with people.
- Join the SCC and Samsters’ Christmas Party. (So saaaaad)
- Write an article for ABHS Post (school paper).
As you can see, I was not able to do all of it, like falling in love again, reducing (I need to eat!) or sporting Alice’s style (I didn’t know what happened; it just popped out of my mind that I wanted a longer hair). Maybe destiny won’t let me have them this time. But that’s so okay. I don’t really care anyway. I learned a lot this year, and that’s more than what I would want. But at least I was able to do almost half of them, right?
So it’s another year, and another set of resolutions (will be posted next time). Toodles! :*
Breaking Free
At last, exams are over; vacations are coming! Ayt! I’ve been very lucky this week, in every aspect: family, friends, money and school. There were no big problems lately. All is well. And I was so lucky in school. We should have five exams for Midterms, but I only took three. I was exempted in Physics and AP. Things went very great!
I haven’t been blogging for a couple of days. I was really busy reviewing and packing my things up for vacation. I’m coming back to Naga! Yehey! I think I’d be there by Monday. So, uhmm, watch out? Haha!
I’m changing my blog skin, for the new year. It’s very girly, but I really like it. Very simple. Speechless.
So, Happy Holidays! Be real, spread love.

Movie Review: New Moon

I make movie reviews once in a blue moon, and I only write one for a movie that really interest me or a movie that I am obsessed with – like
Harry Potter and
The Twilight Saga. And since I already watched the ever-famous Bella-Edward story, I’m making my criticisms now.
THE SETTINGSWell, uhmm, Forks was still the same. I love the forest scenes though. And Italy was very ancient and the greatness was overwhelming.
EDWARD CULLENWhy was Edward (Robert Pattinson) looking sick all throughout the movie? He was not
that pale before. And he always looked like he was in pain, even when he was kissing Bella. Weird.
BELLA SWANBella (Kristen Stewart) looked better now although her brows made her look mean. I loved her wardrobe and her hair. And Kristen’s stuttering-the-Bella-way was great.
JACOB BLACKI never knew that Taylor Lautner
did worked on his body! Wow. His back was huge, and it looked like he had eight packs! But he was really cute, especially when he says “Bella”. He’s funny, beautiful, and just darn sexy!
THE WOLF PACKDoes “Team Wolf Pack” exists? Ha! I really liked them. They were like kids when they were together, when they were cliff diving, when they fought, when they ate those huge muffins! And they always run half-naked! Who wouldn’t want that? I swoon for Paul and Embry!
THE VOLTURRIThey looked really weird and old fashioned. They also looked so mean with their red eyes, looked lazy, immobile and very vampire-ish. I think Jane (Dakota Fanning) was very pretty though. I just found the idea of taking an elevator to a supposed-to-be-dungeon irrelevant. And Alice (Ashley Greene)’s vision of a vampire Bella and Edward was very cheesy and ridiculous. WTH. They were chasing each other like they were old couple or something. And that dress on Bella looked really weird.
THE CULLENSThey were still impossibly beautiful. Ha! I liked Rosalie (Nikki Reed)’s and Alice’s new hair. And Emmet (Kellan Lutz) was as adorable as ever!
I enjoyed the movie. It was better than
Twilight and was almost complete. The animation and the big wolves were really awesome and exemplary. It was a bit boring though. Too much slow talking. Good thing there was always action, attacks, fights, loud sound effects and a whole lot of adrenaline. The movie goers could laugh at some of the scenes, which was really great. Jake and the pack “brought the house down”. It’s funny how some of the people reacted when they saw those half naked shape-shifters. Edward’s presence as Bella’s mere imagination made the movie cheesy. His voice was already enough. The smoke-like effect of his body was not very great. And you won’t miss Edward if you could enjoy Jacob’s company. I think the movie was not cut short also. That was really the end of the second book. He proposed, without a ring: that’s it. But overall, the movie was good. Thumbs up
New Moon people!
Baby, I am Down
Comfort and concern from friends and classmates are touching and all, especially when they over react. Hours before the release of cards, names of exemplary students for the Second Grading period were posted. And they got sad about the results: I went down the list from first to second. I was not really affected. I was already aware of the failure I got from my very low exams. It was normal for me to be the best this day, and be the worst the next day. It’s just so funny how they got mad at me, like they’re my Mom! They insisted that I should have had worked harder because they want my name to be seen beside that prestigious number 1. I looked at their disappointed faces, and as much as I would want to laugh, I just said that life’s not all luck and success. But I told them that I would try my best to be back at the “throne”.
These people are like my source of strength right now. These times, real friends like them are hard to find. And of course, my Mom is my number one inspiration. But I’m not really expecting or pushing myself to that “The Valedictorian” award. It’s already enough for me to graduate as the Salutatorian or with honors. I just want to make my Mom proud, my relatives and my father, as well. Besides, I’m not really good at delivering speeches, like the Valedictory address. I get all tongue-tied when it comes to public speaking, like
very much. So I think I’d mess that up. But then, I won’t let my bad tongue stop me from trying to avail the 100%-any-college-course scholarship. Opportunities are rare; chances come only once, even friends.
