That’s How Life Goes

Isn’t it amazing to think that at a particular point in our existence, we will meet different people that would somehow change our life? We will meet somebody who would teach us things that would make us realize how life goes, how time flies fast and how we should make the most out of everything.

A teacher leaves a great impact in all of us. In a book that I’m currently reading, the Witch of Portobello (written by Paolo Coelho), the main character, Athena, saw her true self, found meaning and learned about the “vertex” and “blank spaces” through her teachers.

One of our teachers, whom we fondly grew up with, is disappointed with us. It’s about something that we should have prepared for, but obviously did not. I guess she knows that I’m not very vocal with this, because I stuttered when I was asked for my reaction about the glitch. So I hope she will be able to read this one.

You have been with us since the start of our high school life. You are one of those few people that made us realize that we should not be afraid of what the coming four years will bring. And if something unfortunate happens, we should always move on, because that’s how life goes. You have been with us through thick and thin. You are not just a teacher, but you’re a friend as well. You deal with us professionally, but with a basket-full of motherly love. We might have hurt you before, but you still accepted us with your warm, open arms. And now that we have done it again, we don’t know how we’ll be able to make it up to you. It feels so bad to hurt someone who loves us and whom we love as well.

So we, IV-Rizal, ask for your forgiveness, for your understanding and for another chance. But we are not forcing you to give in that fast, because we know that it will take time to forgive us. We accept that, because that’s how life goes. We just want you to know how regretful we are about what we did, and how we are willing to change just to be okay with you again, just to bring back the good old times and how we used to be, and just to receive us in your loving arms again. We love you Ma’am, and we are grateful and very lucky that sometime in our life, we have met you and you have touched our hearts in a way that would make us strong, confident and fierce. We thank you and we are very sorry.
