Cars, lights, beaming smiles. Girls turned to pretty ladies; boys changed their old rowdy looks to a dashing appeal. You can see the look on their faces and the glitters in their eyes that they were all excited for this night: the Prom, the awaited night to dress up and dance.

Girls talked about makeup and accessories, while constantly checking on their very first gown. The guys, still so loud, planned on their own ways to dance with the pretty ladies on the other side. But secretly, they were very much nervous they could pee on their pants.

Tick tock. Minutes had passed. The night was about to begin. They put on their masks, their heart pounded fast. With their trembling feet, they came center stage. They removed then their masks and had different looks on their faces. Some were surprised. Some went giddy. Some were frustrated. But it was just the start of the night. Everything could happen at Prom.

Everyone was agitated for the dance. Who their first dance will be was a mystery. And then the DJ played a song with a sweet melody. A song that made everyone more nervous.

“You can do this. Just stand up, walk toward her, breathe deeply and ask her. Be positive, dude. She won’t decline ... or maybe she would.”

“Oh no! I should fix myself now. He’s coming, he’s coming.”

The lights dimmed off. The song filled the room. What was once before an empty dance floor was now filled with pairs of boys and girls. What was once a noisy hall with all the talks from the people was now humbled by the music’s rhythm coming from the DJ’s speakers and the sweet whispers of the pairs on each others’ now-red ears.

.

All good things come to an end, so they made the most of the night – danced, laughed, danced, partied and danced some more. Because after Prom, when the clock strikes twelve, their fairy god mother will eventually take back all the pretty and glittering things, and they would all return to their normal school girls and boys again.
