Pants on the ground

Pants on the Ground is the most successful original song in this season’s auditions. That’s the same phenomena we had from I Am Your Brother from Renaldo Lapuz. You had sung that under the shower, I know you did.

And so American Idol season 9 had already started airing on our boob tube again. I got euphoric about it. I’ve been a fan since my Mom introduced me to it, and since David Archuleta started singing for the American people. I’ve already kept up with two seasons and currently enjoying the latest one with Ellen DeGeneres on it.

The auditions (aired January) were quite hilarious and weird. The standouts were that “Pants on the Ground” and the bikini guy, the counterpart of the bikini girl (from season 8). Then the usual Hollywood week, Top 70, Top 24 and Top 12 (to be introduced next week). Contestants were pretty, nice, hot, but not very great. Well, I think Adam “Glam” Lambert is still the best so far. But of course, I always have my early faves.

Alex Lambert, Crystal Bowersox, Casey James, Didi Benami, Lacey Brown, Lily Scott, Michael Lynche, Lee Dewyze, Siobhan Magnus

Siobhan ‘funny little thing’ Magnus is my most favorite among the girls, and Alex ‘unripe banana’ Lambert among the guys.

Even my playlist is influenced by AI. Some of the songs on it are either revived (sang by the contestant), used on the show or singles from the past contenders.

Wonderful World – James Morrison
You and I Both – Jason Mraz
Fall In Love Again – Jason Castro
Whatta You Want From Me – Adam Lambert
Leave Right Now – Will Young
Everybody Knows – John Legend
Come On Get Higher – Matt Nathanson
