02 July 2010: Overly Odd Odds

My first class for Friday starts at 8 am. I got out of the house at 6:45 am. Too early, but not for this day. Dang! I was aware that today is Pasig Day, but I didn’t realize that the traffic could be wretched like what happened this morning. I was already in the verge of crying silently because I was running late. We will be having our first group reporting in Communication Arts, and I was late! Ugh.

But odds were in my favor today. There was another change in the schedule again. What’s new? We had Psychology – again – for the first subject instead of Communication Arts. And we all had expected to be dismissed earlier; our old schedule says that Friday is a half-day. But everyone got frustrated when we learned that we’d have classes until 3 in the afternoon. Fail! Plans were cancelled, moods were bad.

Psychology today was weird. Our professor was actually absent, so someone took charge of us and made us report about something we know about the subject. I did the reporting, an improvement on my part. No guts, no glory. I pulled through without humiliating myself.

We had Microeconomics with Prof. Mandrake. I was excited for the class; I like Economics, but don’t count the graphs and curves in. I had participated well, just enough. But I was still very tactless. I kept on blurting out answers in advance and corrections that sounded harsh. Sorry, Sir Drake. I’m an idiot and careless.

Communication Arts was fun, though I nearly freaked out when the reporting started. We weren’t the best, but not the worst, of course. Allen and Jemimah, my group mates, were good. Allen dropped the bomb with his dancing abilities, which was really unnecessary. Another successful reporting! Friday is my favorite day from now on.

But I hate Fridays, too. Back in high school, I used to have this illness that always occurs these same days. I get sick or feel sick. And now it’s back. I am really sick to my swelling throat right now. My nose is running mad, and I am so tired. Weekend sickness is my nemesis. We are like Dr. Doopersmirtz and Perry the Platypus!

Oh, it’s Kim Mateo’s birthday today. So it means that mine is creeping near already. I am not even aware. I am getting older. Geez. I hope Samuel will greet me through his tweets. I am hopeless, I know! Oh well, happy birthday Kim!

What a first week! I lost weight already, and it makes me feel weak. But I think I’m still healthy – I still can spell pathetic and idiocy, a good sign.
