29 June 2010: Professors and Cocktails

It’s like the first day of school... again! We met and got to know our professors for this semester. But we only had two subjects this day: Communication Arts and Economics 101. What an easy life! Prof. Erica Paner and Prof. Mandrake Calangian will teach us those subjects, respectively. We felt a bit lame because you could count us with just your two hands and your one pinky toe. I could even name them all without looking at their faces. Sad.

But this day was fun, as well. This late afternoon was the Freshmen Night Out. We’re lucky we only had two subjects today. I had decided last night that I would just change clothes in the school, so I already brought my outfit with me. I still have 5 hours to spare, so I visited my sanctuary: a bookstore. I half-walked half-ran to Fully Booked because I was so excited like a toddler in a park to get my hands on that shiny red-covered Catching Fire. I so miss Peeta Mellark and his breads! The story was so sad but very exciting: Peeta and Katniss Everdeen were engaged already because they need to prove that they did the berries act out of crazy and insane love; Gale Hawthorne had kissed Katniss; Haymitch Abernathy was back to his alcohol’s arms again; President Snow was acting all bitchy; and they’re both rich now, and oh my God, back to my journal.

I saw Rob, the white guy, of Pinoy Big Brother while strolling in Bonifacio High Street - Serendra. I got to school by past 4, and my mind was still left on the book. I was living in Panem with Katniss and Peeta and was constantly testing my slim odds on the Reaping... I only got back to reality when my new friends arrived. And so we did the usual preps for the party. I was really nervous, but excited. My heels could kill me!

The party started by 6 pm. They had bands to perform, gift prizes to give away, finger foods for our stomachs, and a runway that could either make or break us for the rest of the semester. I tried not to think of the fashion show. I talked to new people and made new friends again: Angelo Ampil, Gideon Marcelino, Micheal James, Gabriel Villanueva, the small girl, Diana Agulto and her friend. The agenda of this event had worked.

Tick tock. Time had passed so fast. I didn’t realize that the runway was open already. So alright, I can do this... and I did! Thanks to my partner Martin, I didn’t need to face the possible shame alone. It wasn’t a shame at all, though. Angela won as the Best Female Model of the Night, by the way! I knew she’ll pull it off. She’s awesome. And speaking of awesome, Awesome, I mean Angelo, won as the Best Male Model. Angela and Angelo – what a coincidence. Insane!

This day was a first. Good thing I decided to come or I would have missed all the fun.
